Meditation for Performance
Simon Jones DipBSoM, Meditation Teacher
Most people regard meditation as a wellness tool, a way to relax and unwind. But, there's a growing bank of evidence that shows meditation can help improve much more than just your wellbeing.
In this course we explore the science, and the meditation techniques, that can be used to help unlock personal performance through building resilience, improving focus, enhancing leadership skills and developing more creative states.
Join the course, and see why meditation is about much more than wellness.

Your 7-Day Journey to Clarity
This guided programme provides a structured, day-by-day path to learning meditation as a practical skill.
Day 1: The 5-Minute Start
Demystify the practice and overcome the most common barrier: time. This first session counters the myth that you must "silence your mind" and establishes the breath as a simple "anchor" for your attention.
Day 2: Tame Your Distracted Mind
Understand the science of the "wandering mind," a state researchers found we are in for nearly 47% of our waking hours. You'll practise Focused Attention (FA) and learn that the "rep" isn't in holding focus perfectly, but in the simple act of gently returning it.
Day 3: Activate Your 'Calm' System
Learn the physiology of stress (the "fight-or-flight" system) and how to consciously activate your body's "Relaxation Response". This session gives you a real-time tool to down-regulate your stress response during high-pressure moments.
Day 4: Build Your Resilience
Reframe resilience as a trainable skill, not a fixed trait. You'll learn how meditation physically rewires the brain over time (neuroplasticity) and practise observing stressful thoughts non-judgmentally to reduce their power.
Day 5: Unlock Your Creative Mind
This session directly targets a core agency competency. You'll practice Open Monitoring (OM) meditation, a specific technique scientifically shown to reduce "cognitive rigidity" and enhance the divergent, innovative thinking required for brainstorming and creative problem-solving.
Day 6: Connect With Clarity
Discover that empathy and compassion are trainable leadership skills. You'll be introduced to Loving-Kindness Meditation (LKM) as a practical method to improve social connection, client relationships, and teamwork.
Day 7: The Path Forward
Integrate your new skills in a final 10-minute session combining Focused Attention and Open Monitoring meditation. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of how to make these skills a durable, lasting habit.
A Toolkit for Professional Excellence
Upon completing the 7-day course, you will have gained a foundational, evidence-based toolkit to:

7 Days of Clarity FAQ
Q. I work in advertising. I don’t have time to meditate.
A. You likely don’t have time not to. Research by Killingsworth & Gilbert (2010) suggests the human mind wanders approximately 47% of the time. That is nearly half your day lost to distraction. Our training helps you reclaim that time. Furthermore, studies (Tang et al., 2007) show that just five days of brief training (20 minutes) can significantly improve attention and self-regulation. The 7-Day Kickstart requires just 10 minutes a day, less time than you spend waiting for a coffee.
Q. Will this kill my creative edge?
A. No, it will sharpen it. There is a specific distinction in meditation techniques. While Focused Attention builds concentration, we teach Open Monitoring (OM) meditation to creatives. A key study by Colzato et al. (2012) found that Open Monitoring specifically enhances "divergent thinking", the ability to generate many new ideas (brainstorming). It helps overcome cognitive rigidity, allowing for those "lightbulb" insight moments.
Q. I’ve tried before and I can't stop thinking. Is this for me?
Yes. The idea that you must "stop thinking" is the biggest myth in meditation. The goal is not to stop your thoughts, but to notice them without getting lost in them. Every time you notice your mind has wandered and you choose to bring it back to the breath, you are performing a "rep" for your brain. This process strengthens the Pre-frontal Cortex (the brain’s CEO) and weakens the Amygdala (the brain’s stress centre). If you are thinking, you are doing it right, provided you notice the thought.
Q. How does this help with agency stress and deadlines?
A. We teach you to activate the Relaxation Response. Identified by Dr. Herbert Benson, this is a measurable physiological state that is the exact opposite of the "fight or flight" stress response. Regular practice lowers cortisol (stress hormone) levels and blood pressure. It doesn't remove the deadline, but it changes your physiological reaction to it, allowing you to respond with clarity rather than react with panic.
Q. Is there actual science behind this?
Absolutely. We rely on neuroscience and psychology, not mysticism.
-
Neuroplasticity: MRI scans show that meditation can physically alter the brain's structure (Lazar et al., 2005), thickening the cortex in areas associated with attention and sensory processing.
-
Resilience: Research shows that meditation can down-regulate the Amygdala, making you less reactive to emotional triggers.
-
Leadership: Studies (Klimecki et al., 2014) differentiate between Empathy (which can lead to burnout) and Compassion (which is resilient and positive). We train the latter.
Q. I’m a skeptical person. Will I get annoyed by the style?
A. We built klarosity for people like you. We focus on the mechanics of the mind. Our approach is similar to physical training, this is simply the gym for your brain.
Q. What happens after the 7-Day Course?
A. The Course is designed to introduce you to the core techniques: Focus, Breath, and Open Monitoring. Following this, you can choose to join our 4-Week Online Courses which dive deeper into specific performance tracks: Resilience, Focus, Leadership, or Creativity.
Q. Do I need any equipment?
A. Just a chair and a pair of headphones. You can practice at your desk, on your commute (not if driving), or at home.
An Important Note on Your Wellbeing
Meditation can be a powerful tool for building resilience and managing stress, and it is a complementary therapy. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice. If you are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, or any other health concern, you should always consult your doctor or a qualified healthcare provider.
