Service Description

Feeling stuck in a creative rut? This meditation technique helps you move beyond linear thinking to unlock fresh perspectives, breakthrough insights, and innovative ideas. The pressure to innovate and find novel solutions is constant. But creativity isn't a mysterious force; it's a cognitive skill that can be cultivated. This class introduces Open Awareness meditation, a powerful practice designed to expand your thinking and help you break through creative blocks. Unlike practices that focus your attention on a single point, Open Awareness encourages a broad, receptive, and non-judgmental attention to whatever enters your awareness, be it thoughts, sounds, or physical sensations. This gently reduces the brain's rigid, top-down control, creating the ideal mental conditions for new connections and ideas to form. This isn't just a theory, it's backed by compelling research. A landmark 2012 study by Colzato and colleagues found that this style of meditation specifically enhances divergent thinking, the very cognitive process that underpins creativity and the ability to generate a wide range of new, flexible, and original ideas. This session is perfect for leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals who need to solve complex problems and generate fresh strategies. You'll leave with a practical tool to stimulate creativity on demand, helping you to see challenges from new angles and unlock your most innovative thinking. Class Schedule: 1. Welcome & Introduction: We'll begin by introducing the theme: using meditation to deliberately access a more creative, non-linear way of thinking. 2. First Guided Meditation: A Focused Attention practice to first ground and stabilise the mind, creating a calm foundation from which to expand. 3. The 'Why' of Open Awareness: A brief, clear explanation of how this practice helps to bypass rigid thought patterns and create the mental space for innovative ideas. 4. Main Guided Meditation: A longer guided Open Awareness practice, where you'll learn to rest in a state of broad, receptive awareness without a specific anchor. 5. Integration & Closing: We’ll conclude with key insights on how to apply this open and curious mindset to your strategic and creative challenges.
