Service Description

Does your mind feel endlessly busy? Learn how to step back from distracting, repetitive thought loops and build the mental resilience to stay calm and grounded, even on the most demanding days. It's a universal human experience, our minds wander. In fact, we spend almost half our waking hours thinking about something other than what we're currently doing. While this is normal, it can also be a significant source of stress and anxiety, pulling us into unhelpful loops of worry and rumination. This class teaches you how to tame your wandering mind. The goal isn't to stop your thoughts, that's impossible. Instead, you will learn the mindful skill of noticing when your mind has strayed and gently guiding it back without judgment. This practice is a powerful form of resilience training. Neuroscientific studies have shown that the part of the brain responsible for this 'mind-wandering', the Default Mode Network, is less active in experienced meditators. By training your awareness, you learn to step out of the mental traffic, gaining a crucial sense of perspective and control. This session is perfect for anyone who feels caught up in a cycle of overthinking. You'll leave with a practical technique to manage internal chatter, reduce the grip of stressful thoughts, and cultivate a more resilient, focused, and present state of mind. Class Schedule: 1. Welcome & Introduction: We’ll begin by introducing the session's theme, building resilience by learning to manage your internal chatter. 2. First Guided Meditation: A Breath Anchor meditation to help you stabilise and focus your mind as a foundation for the main practice. 3. The 'Why' of Mind-Wandering: A brief, insightful explanation of the brain's "mind-wandering" engine and how mindfulness allows us to step back from unhelpful thought patterns. 4. Main Guided Meditation: A Mindfulness of Thoughts practice, where you'll build the skill of observing thoughts as they arise and pass, without getting entangled in them. 5. Integration & Closing: We’ll conclude with key takeaways on how this skill directly builds your resilience to stress and daily pressures.
