As we head into a very busy period preparing for the launch of our meditation platform, I wanted to reflect on what we're trying to achieve at klarosity. Doubtless when I look back at this post in a few years, or even weeks(!), a lot will have changed, and so I see this as a stake in the ground, something I can look back on and reflect.

You know, meditation has been a huge part of my life (I'll save that for another time). It's really hard to put into words the peace and performance I have found through developing a regular meditation practice. Genuinely, sometimes I feel like it's the only thing that I can rely on to help me hold everything together.
But when I started out down the road to developing my meditation practice, the pathway felt unclear, undefined, messy. I read, I watched videos, I listened to podcasts, I went to church halls for local meditation classes. There's so much information, so much out there, but then at the same time there's not . . . If you know what I mean.
There's mountains of scientific evidence illustrating the benefits of meditation, not just as a wellness tool, but also for personal and professional performance. Everyone tells you that you should meditate. . . Friends, Doctors, colleagues, people like me. Deep inside I bet you know know that you should be giving it a try.
For me, the one thing that was really missing was an open, honest, pragmatic approach. Something straight-forward, straight down the line. This is what I needed:
Clear facts about the benefits of meditation
Simple guidance on techniques and practices
Accountability, making sure I actually practiced
Personalised advice to get me pointing in the right direction
And, this is exactly what we're trying to build.
Evidence backed meditation techniques and practices
Easy to follow guided meditations & meditation courses
Live online classes that you can book in your diary and commit to
Personalied meditation plans and private lessons for those of you who don't want to waste any time
I know how many options are out there for you. But I also know that if you're operating in a high-performance environment you'll value what we're developing. I don't think that klarosity will be for everyone, and that's fine, we want to work with people like you. . . Hungry, motivated, time-poor, and looking to improve your performace:
Improving resilience
Improving cognitive performance, focus and decision making
Improving your leadership skills, empathy and compassion
Improving you strategic, creative and innovation skills
As I write this, I've been thinking, and I'm going to coin two phrases. If you use them, do me a favour and credit klarosity:
Performance Meditation: "A meditation programme or practice developed to improve personal performance in regards to resilience, cognitive function, relationships and creativity."
Functional Meditation: "A meditation programme or practice designed to optimise physiological and phsychological performance."
(I'm going to come back to those in another blog post)
And finally, I get asked this a lot. What does 'klarosity' mean. Well, it's a play on the ancient Greek word 'klaros' which means 'clarity or bright' and the connector 'ity' which means 'to be'. . . So we get to 'to be clear or bright'. . . Which to me is everything you should be looking for from your meditation practice.
Back soon. Si
